Help
The Data Reserve is based on a taxonomy of 10 overriding subject areas. These areas are further broken down into subcategories of interest. Informational links are then organized by data, reports & research papers, and resources.
Taxonomy
This taxonomy has been adopted through the input of agencies and organizations throughout the health and human service system in Allegany County.
Click here to view the taxonomy.
Scroll over the subject areas of the taxonomy located in the green boxes at the top of every page on this site. Select a subcategory of interest from the drop down menu provided.
How the Data is Organized
After a subcategory of interest has been selected, information is available in three forms: data, reports & research papers, and resources.
Data: We define data as raw information, with no conclusions made.
Reports & Research Papers: Includes data that conclusions have been drawn from, as well as research papers provided by Alfred University.
Resources: The resources listed provider further information about the subject area and where to go for more information.
All information is then divided into local, state and federal categories, with the most local and most recent data provided at the top of every page.
Other features of the site
Collaboratives: In an effort to keep each other informed and to foster collaboration, the Allegany Data Reserve lists and describes coalitions that are active within Allegany County. We define coalition as any group that has more than one organization represented working on a common goal.
Data 101: Gathering data is an important step in writing grants and increasing funding. However, another important step is developing data and presenting the data in a means to support your point. The Allegany Data Reserve provides web resources that give step by step directions to develop data further.

Comprehensive Reports: The Allegany Data Reserve links to reports that are categorized as comprehensive based on their impact on an entire sector and the community in general.
